Learning english

Imagen
Hi this is going to be the last blog and i have to talk about my experience with the classes in the university. In general, learning english at the university is been a good experience, i´ve learned a lot and really hope to learn a lot more. I really enjoyed the classes and the interaction between the students and the teacher.  Before this english classes i didn´t write a lot of stuff in english, but the blogs helped me improve a lot in my writing. I don´t think i would make any more blogs outside of the obligatory but i could start writing other kind of stuff, to basically get better with drafting and ortography.  I would like to improve my pronunciation, i think that the only way to do so is by practicing, hopefuly with a native english speaker. Normally it´s hard for me to talk to people i don´t know, so it could be even harder talk to someone that speaks another language but i have to give it a try. Outside the english classes i normally watch things in the internet ...

Changes to my study programme

I think that the study programme of forest engineering is pretty accurate and i wouldn´t change it, maybe the problems with the subjects have to do with other things like the teachers or the type of classes.  I also think that the workload is normal, in the sense that is not too much.  I´m not sure about the lenght of the studies but in general sounds normal in comparison with others carrers. Talking about the faculty facilities they seem enough for the amount of students, i can´t talk much because i´ve been in the faculty once, but it seems ok from the outside. Basically the only thing that we use as forestal engineers is the computer all day for the classes and different activities so we´ve never use any kind of instrument in a real forest for example. I personally hate online classes. For a career like forest enginnering, most of the thing you need to learn are practical and can´t be learned from only a computer. Is like we´re meant to become professionals by watching...

Time travel to the future

Imagen
In general i wouldn´t like to travel to the future, i would like to travel to the past, but if i have to go to the future i´d probably travel like 30 years in the future, and just stay in Chile to see what my family´s been up to for that amount of years. I´d like to see if i´m going to have any kids, what i´d be working on, and how the entire family is growing. This travel would be only to see whats going on in the future but i wouldn´t stay there, basically because i have to keep living my life now and work in my future, and of course, i have a lot of things to do in the present. It´d be really interesting to see like the technology and that kind of things, but i is kinda scary to think about the climate change and how bad it can get in 30 years, and see a place where maybe my grandparents are deceased, or maybe i´m deceased. If you think about it, it can be very scary. I wouldn´t like to travel to the future because i think that knowing what´s going to happen it takes away the g...

My future job

Imagen
I don´t usually think about an especific job that i would like in the future. I´d like to be something like a forest ranger or something related to the nature based on my college career.   I´d love an outdoor job, i really don´t picture myself working like in an office like i just don´t like indoor jobs. I´d also like to travel a lot in my job. About the salary that i´d get, i have like an average but its really variable. I´m not interested in having a lot of money, i just want to do what i really enjoy and just hoping to be happy. I haven´t think about studying a major yet, but i guess as i keep studying i´ll probably take one. I guess i´m not really sure of what i want for my life, i think there is a lot of things to live yet. At some point i became really interested in playing volleyball, but i guess it just didn´t worked. I´m really interested in my career and i hope i can work on something in the future related to it.  I just want to do something that makes me happy...

Best and only field trip

Imagen
What's your favourite field trip? I´ve only had one field trip, it´s my favourite for now. When was it? It was from 9 to 11 of september of this year  Why it is your favourite? It´s the only field trip i've had,but it was really interesting and fun. Where do you went? We went to Pantanillos. What things did you learned? We learned about a bunch of different endemic species, we also, as a generation, met each other after 1 year and a half of lockdown. Also learned about the place and its history. After almost a year and a half, all our generation got to meet each other at Pantanillos. We went for 3 days and learned a lot about different species of trees and plants. One of the thinks i liked the most was to meet my classmates, and of course learn things in real life instead of a computer, reading PDFs all day. Among the species we met are, for example the hualo, the coihue, lingue and the copihue. We walked a lot and spended a lot of time with the teachers and classmates. ...

My favourite movie

Imagen
I´m not a huge fan of movies but one i definitely liked a lot when i was a kid was Treasure planet.  Its a movie from 2002 produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, is an adaptation of the adventure novel Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, it was produced and directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. The soundtrack was composed by James Newton Howard. The story takes place in the future, a kid named Jim Hawkins is a huge fan of Captain Flint, a treasure hunter. It is said that he hid the spoils of a thousand worlds and can be found on the "Treasure planet". With the help of a holographic map and a crew he tries to get to the planet and hopefuly find the treasure. One of the thinks i like the most about the movie is the soundtrack, it fits really well with the movie and i really enjoy it.  I do think that it is an underrated film, like after it came out everyone forgot about it. I think the story, the stages, technology, aliens and architecture makes it a really attra...

Vacations with Los Vasquez

Imagen
During January of 2020 me and my family went to my grandmothers house in Pichidegua, which is a small village close to Rancagua. We went for a single week.  We normally go there for holidays, and we play ping pong, ride in bike, go to the swiming pool, spending time in family and that kind of stuff. This was an especial ocassion because Los Vasquez were giving a free concert in Las Cabras, another village next to Pichidegua. I'm a huge fan of Los Vasquez so i really wanted to go. I went to the presentation with my mom and dad. At first we didn't know that it would take almost 4 hours before they appear on stage, but it was worth it. Before they appeared we watched a local folklore group and a chilean singer called Maria Jose Quintanilla that normally appears on Mega animating a TV show.  After a long time, Vasquez brothers went on stage and started performing. It was memorable, they sang a lot of my favourite songs and other songs that never heard of, but still like it....
